April 06 Long Time No HearHowdy All! I know…it’s been a LONG time since I stopped in here and wrote. I can’t write much at the moment since I’m about ready to call it a night after playing around with some of the new stuff on here. I’m still not quite sure what I think of all of it…LOL!
Anywho…I will try and give you all a nice long post in the next few days…just to get everybody caught up with everything going on in my little world. Take care and I’ll be back soon!
Love & Blessings,
Martha October 14 Finally...A New Post....LOL!![]() Howdy All,
Well here I am once again with another new post. Sorry that it has taken me a while to post on here but as always things have been busy!
As you can see by the new photos I posted...we do have our upstairs den all painted and pictures up on the wall. I have to say...it really looks good. Now we are planning to get started on the living room down stairs sometime next weekend. We were hoping to do it this weekend but Colin took me out this weekend for my B-Day (my B-Day was on Oct. 2) since he was unable to do it last weekend due to illness (we both had the stomach flu last weekend
In other news....
My Step-Kids will be coming for Christmas this year!!!!! YAY! Last week we booked and paid for their flights and they will be arriving on December 20! Woot Woot! Now I just hope that we have a white Christmas for them. They don't get a lot of snow in England....just rain....so their big wish is that they get to see a good old fashioned Pennsylvania snow storm! I guess I better put my order for it in early with the Man upstairs so that it gets here in time huh? LOL! This will also be the first time they have ever spent Christmas with us in the USA. Usually they come for the Summer but this year they wanted to be here for Christmas and thank the Lord we were able to save up enough pennies to make it happen! I'm sooooo excited! Can't you tell? LOL!
Moving right along....
I want to take the time to wish all my friends up north in Canada a very Happy Belated Thanksgiving! I hope you guys had a good one! We won't have ours here in the USA till next month so if you guys have any leftovers....please e-mail me some....LOL!
Anyway...I guess that will just about do it for me....I hope I'll get a chance to get back here soon with another update...hopefully before Christmas would be nice huh? LOL! Hope everybody had a wonderful weekend and hope you all have a great week!
Love & Blessings,
Martha September 02 Been a Busy Girl!Hello All!
Yes I know...I've been gone WAY too long...LOL! But hey...here I am again! Just thought it was time to do a little catching up.
Colin and I have done some more painting around here. We managed to get the hallway both upstairs and down completely painted! I have pictures of it in my album but incase you don't have time to look through it I thought I would stick one right here.....
![]() How's that for bright huh? LOL! When we first put it on the walls we thought...Oh good heavens...people are gonna go blind when they walk into our house....LOL! But then as it dried and once we put some pictures up it really came together more and I actually like it! It's warm, happy and bright and says.....welcome to our home! Now that was the look I had wanted.
Colin and I also got some more painting done this weekend too. We managed to get the Den upstairs all painted and that means we are completely done painting the upstairs and can now move on to getting the downstairs painted. I don't have any pictures of the Den yet since the paint is still wet and we can't move any furniture back into place nor can we hang the pictures back up. But I promise that I will get pictures of it as soon as the paint is dry and we have it looking just they way we want it.
On to other things......
Yesterday Colin took me to the McLain Celtic Festival here in Carlisle! We had a blast! We saw all kinds of traditional Celtic dancing from Ireland, Scotland and Wales, listened to traditional Celtic Music, watched men in Kilts playing in the Highland Games and had Traditional Celtic and British foods to eat! Needless to say...Colin was REAL pleased about that! LOL! I have quite a few pictures of it posted in my album also but thought I would share with you one of my favorites....
![]() This guy was a real sweetheart! I asked him politely if I may take his picture and he said sure why not plus told me an Irish joke (since he saw that I was wearing an Irish T-Shirt) to add to my ever growing list of Irish jokes...LOL! Bless him! LOL! It really was a fun day out and I will be going back there again next year! I might not have been able to get to a Pow Wow this Summer but at least I got to enjoy something from the other culture in my family.
As you can tell by the change here on my blog...the kids have gone back to school. Much to their dismay...LOL! But at least this weekend they have a 3 day weekend along with Colin and I since Monday is Labor Day. Hooray for 3 day weekends....you know I love 'em! LOL!
Anyway....that will just about do it for me for now. I hope to get back here soon and I FINALLY found a new place to host music files! HOORAY! I don't think its as good as Filelodge was so who knows how long the music will be playing on here but for right now...I'm loving it! LOL! Have a great rest of your weekend guys and I will speak to you all again soon!
Love & Blessings,
Martha
July 23 Got Two More Rooms DoneHowdy All,
Well as you can see by the photos that I posted Colin and I got Mel's room all painted and done plus our own. Sorry that I didn't get to write soon but heck...I was busy. LOL!
My two weeks off are now over and last week was my first week back after my two weeks of freedom. Talk about hard man...LOL! Oh well like they say...all good things must come to an end and vacation time is no exception...for sure.
Anyway...I guess I'll get going for now. I see that some of you have commented on my last blog and I will do my best to write back to you. I might even get it done tonight. *fingers crossed* LOL! Hope you all had a great day today...for a Monday...lol...and I'll speak to you all again soon!
Love & Blessings,
Martha
PS....Today is Colin's B-Day so if you want...you can wish him a Happy 46th B-Day right here...LOL! Bless Him! June 28 Howdy!![]() Hey All,
Well I know it's been a while but here I am...back again. Sorry it took me a while to write in here but I guess..... as usual..... I've been one busy girl...LOL!
Right now I'm in the middle of my two weeks off from work. This is what we call our summer break and I have to say I'm loving it! LOL! I have managed to get some things accomplished around here including getting my son's room all painted and decked out in the colors of his favorite American football team...the Philadelphia Eagles! Now he doesn't know what we have done to it because right now as I speak..... he is up at his dad's visiting him for a few weeks this summer. He's gonna be sooooo surprised when he gets home!
The girls are also up in Lewistown spending time with their dad, friends and my family. Since they won't be here for a few weeks...... my daughter Melanie is the next one on our list to get a room makeover! She picked out her bedding from Target before she left and it should be getting delivered to the house sometime tomorrow. After that...we are going to go buy the paint for her walls and will be getting started on that sometime over the weekend. I'm so excited!
Colin also wants to get our room, our den upstairs, and the whole rest of the house painted before the end of summer! Wow! I'm tired just thinking about it.....LOL! Don't worry....I'll be taking plenty of pictures of the rooms as they get done so that all of you can see. You have no idea how happy I am to finally be able to deccorate a house any way I want! WEEEEE!
Anyway...I guess that will just about do it for me. I hope all of you are doing well and I'll do my best to get back on here as soon as I can!
Love & Blessings,
Martha
![]() May 27 Happy Memorial Day!![]() Howdy All,
I just wanted to stop by quick and wish all of you a very Happy and Safe Memorial Day weekend! I'll be going up to Lewistown tomorrow to spend Memorial Day with my family. I just hope I feel better tomorrow than I have today so far. My allergies have been just terrible lately and I think I might be coming down with a sinus infection....YUCK!
Anyway.... I guess that will do it for me for now....once again...have a wonderful Memorial Day and please take the time to remember those that have fought and died for our country. They paid the ultimate price so that we continue to live in freedom. Also say a prayer for those that are still out there in harms way....may they be back with their loved ones soon! Take care all!
Love & Blessings,
Martha
![]() May 13 Happy Mother's Day!![]() Hey All,
Well here I am again...yeah I know....I've been slacking...LOL! The last time I wrote to everybody was clean back on Easter! LOL! What can I say...I've been one busy lady! LOL!
Before I get started....I want to take the time to wish all of you Moms and Moms To Be out there a very Happy Mother's Day. I hope that your hubby and kids treated you to a nice day out or at least cooked the Sunday dinner for ya. Let's face it...us Moms sure can use a break every once in a while. My Mother's Day actually started yesterday with Colin taking me out to eat to my favorite Chinese resturant and it continued into today with a surprise gift of an assortment of my favorite scented bodywash and such from one of my favorite stores! Yey! These kids really do know how to win brownie points with me...LOL! To be honest...it wasn't the kids that picked it out...it was Colin....but he said it was from the kids...LOL! Figures huh? LOL! Anyway...hope everybody had a wonderful Mother's Day and to all of you other people who aren't Moms.......Have you done something nice for dear old Mom? LOL!
On to other things....
Well the new job is still going well.....I am feeling more at home there everyday and the kids really do keep me hopping and feeling young. This is a good thing for a 30 something gal. LOL! Anything to help me hold on the my youth just a little while longer....LOL! Don't get me wrong...there are days when I am more than ready to leave at 5:30 PM....LOL! But for the most part it has been a wonderful opportunity for me to learn something new and to grow as an individual. I am just so grateful!
Well....this coming Friday is my daughter Sarah's Junior Prom. *sigh* It is just so hard to believe that my oldest is quickly becoming a lovely, wonderful, young lady! I will do my best to get pictures of her and her date all decked out for this evening affair! Her date will be a good friend of hers from Lewistown named Josh. Actually he is a little bit more than a friend. I think he is going to become her boyfriend but I guess we'll have to wait and see what comes of this little teenage romance. Sheeesh! Boy I don't miss that crap I'll tell ya...LOL!
The weather here has finally been...well....more like Spring! LOL! With the Spring weather getting here all the kids have been out and about on there bikes and playing basketball at the park. It's just lovely! However...with the nice weather has come the assorted injuries too. Yep that's right...my son hurt his arm when he wrecked his bike! OUCH! He has what is called a green stick fracture. Now this is when the bone doesn't break but is just bent out of shape some and now he is stuck wearing a splint and is not allowed to play basketball or ride his bike until it is fully healed. Needless to say he is not a happy camper about the whole thing. But I told him that with playing outside and doing outdoor activities comes the risk of injury and that he should feel lucky that it wasn't a regular fracture that would require him to wear a heavy duty plaster cast. He is pretty glad about that. At least with this splint he can take it off to get a shower every night and can just put it back on when he is done. The hard part for him is not being able to do all the things he likes to do. That I can understand. the good news is he only has a few more weeks to go and then it should be fully healed. The last time he was at the doctor's they took more x-rays of his arm and said that it is healing nicely and that he should be fully recoved by the time he goes back to see them again on May 31! HOORAY! Now I wonder what he's gonna injure next?
Anyway...I guess that pretty much wraps it up for me as far as what has been going on here. I hope everybody has had a wonderful weekend and I'll try and get back here soon!
Love & Blessings,
Martha April 07 Happy Easter!![]() Howdy All,
I just wanted to take the time to stop by and wish everybody a very Happy Easter! We plan on spending the day with my family back in Lewistown so I'll be taking the old digital camera along and will snap some pictures to share with all of you.
As you can see I've added some more photos of the new kitties along with their big sister Storm. Everybody seems to be getting along much better and Storm will even initiate play time with the other two! So good to see a little peace and harmony around here.
The new job is going much smoother now. Right now I am in the middle of my Easter Vacation which started this past Thursday and will continue till Tuesday. The kids have been off school since Tuesday and won't go back till this coming Tuesday. It is so nice to have some extra time off to spend with the family...plus it allowed me to get some cleaning done around here. LOL!
Anyway....i guess that will about do it for me for now. Once again I hope everybody has a wonderful Easter and I'll be back again soon!
Love & Blessings,
Martha
![]() March 26 We Have New Family Members & My First DayHey All,
Our family just got a little bigger as of Saturday evening. We just adopted two new kitties. Their names are Red and Bruiser and they are both 5 months old. We adopted them from Furry Friends Network who works with PetSmart here in Carlisle to find homeless cats and dogs good homes.
We put an application in to adopt a new kitty just a few weeks ago and just found out the we were approved last week So when Colin and I had off last Friday we went to PetSmart just to see what cats were up for adoption and we came across these too. We were given the lady's number that was handling our adoption and called her as soon as we got back to the car to say we wanted to go for Red & Bruiser. Well she called us back the next day to say that the cats were ours and we went and picked them up at PetSmart Saturday evening!
Now Red is a little female and Bruiser is a male. Bruiser got his name because of his big paws so that means when he's full grown he's gonna be one heck of a big cat....LOL! Red is very small and was probably the runt of the litter and she won't get very big. A lot like our cat Storm....she's not a very big cat either. Red & Bruiser are littermates and that's why we decided to get both of them since we really did not have the heart to split the two of them up
Our cat Storm is not too happy with us at the moment because of the new kittens and for that reason we are going to introduce them slowly by keeping the kittens in our den and letting Storm sniff under the door and get to know their scent before just throwing them together. We'll keep it this way all week till the weekend and then let the two new "babies" free to roam the whole house. We do our best to let Storm know that she is still Top Cat in this house and that we will always love her just as much as the other two. It'll be better when everybody can be in the same room at the same time but hey its only for a week.
Today was also my first day at my new job and it seems to have gone very well. It is actually nice coming home from work and not feeling like the walking dead...LOL! It's also nice not having to get up at 4 AM to get ready for work....LOL! Since I don't have to get up till 6:30 AM I feel like I'm sleeping in! LOL! Anyway I'll keep you guys posted on all of it as I go.
Hope everybody had a good Monday and I'll try and get back here soon.
Love & Blessings,
Martha March 24 Holy Smokes......I'm Writing! LOL!
Hey All,
Yes….I know…..I have been AWOL for a while but here I am once again and boy do I have LOADS to share with you…..LOL!
First off….Let me start by showing you the before and after pics of Sarah’s new attic room that I have been promising all of you.
Here is before….
And now here is after…..
What a change huh? Told ya the dang room was purple to the extreme….LOL!
Oh want to wish you all a Happy Belated St. Patrick’s Day before I move on. I was hoping to write a bit before the big day but never got a chance too. Colin decided to take me out for St. Patty’s Day just to make his Lil Irish Gal happy and I have a picture of the two of us on our night out as well.
Can you tell I was happy to get out? LOL! After being shut up in the house all winter it was good to get out around other adults for a few hours….just what the doctor ordered I believe….LOL! We went to this great little place here in Carlisle called Market Cross Pub. Just within walking distance of the house! They have beer there from all over the world including England! And they also serve traditional English food as well…..both of which made Colin a VERY happy camper! LOL! It has been almost 5 years since he has had English beer and he said the place really made him feel at home! Awwww….I’m so glad! I know there are times that he gets pretty homesick and anything that helps ease the pain is a good thing. But then he says Carlisle itself makes him feel at home since it is laid out like an English city or town.
Have some other big news to report…..
As you all know….I have been unhappy with my job ever since I started it up at Lewistown and when I transferred within the same company down here in Carlisle. Well….yours truly has got herself another job! I will be working with little kids and also be getting an education at the same time! I will become a Day Care Teacher! Something I have always wanted to do! With this I could become a School Teacher in time! Wow! What a HUGE and welcome change in my life!
Now I’ll be honest…..I am a little nervous too. Change is always a scary thing but Colin says he knows in his heart that I can do this standing on my head and that I’ll make a good teacher. I sure do hope so because blue collar work is not what I want to do for the rest of my working life till I retire. I count this all as just another blessing from God and know in my heart that if He felt that this wasn’t good for me He would never have allowed it. I’ll just give Him my trust and just take it all one day at a time.
Well I guess I’ll get going for now. I have lots to do today. Hopefully I’ll be back here real soon with another update. Till then….
Love & Blessings,
Martha
February 12 Here's That UpdateHello All,
Sorry I didn’t get to write that update over the weekend but I was on the go BIGTIME! So much for trying to relax during my weekend off huh? LOL! Well I guess I better bring everybody up to date.
Ok….since the last time I wrote there has been A LOT of things happening here and most of it for the good. We FINALLY received a rather decent amount of money that we have been waiting the past four years for and with it we have paid off a good bit of our debts and since doing that I am now able to look for another job properly. I’ll be able to find a job that pays less and maybe even be able to only have to work part time! How cool is that? I know that makes me a VERY happy girl!
This money has also been a huge help as far as being able to do a little redecorating around the house. Sarah’s attic room will be finished and ready for her to move in hopefully by the end of the week! The room is painted all in light purple and on Friday we will be having the dark purple carpet put it. She even got herself a purple comforter set and bed sheets! Wow! That a lot of purple! But that’s how she wanted it and that’s what she’ll get. LOL! She even has purple light fixtures in there! LOL!
Since Sarah is moving into the attic room that will give Colin and I another room to play with. We plan on moving into her old bedroom and using that as our own bedroom and the room that is our bedroom right now will become our study/hide away/guest room. We’ll keep a PC in there, a TV, some assorted chairs and a futon that will double as a couch/bed. Now both those rooms will be hard to find the right color to paint the walls since what will be our bedroom has pink carpet and what will be the study has red carpet. Hmmmmm…a challenge. LOL! This is going to require some thinking. LOL! Ouch…..that hurts! LOL!
As I said before this weekend was a busy one. Saturday was the worst of the 3 days I had off. See Sarah had her Winter Formal which I had to take her to get her hair and nails done and on top of that my son Kurtis had his basketball playoffs going on all day as well! Talk about wishing I could be in more than one place at a time….LOL! Well I solved the problem by dropping Kurtis and his friend off at the basketball game and then dropped Sarah off at Wal-Mart to get her hair and nails done. They both had a cell phone and were told to call me if the needed anything and while I was waiting for Sarah to get finished so I could drop her back off at home…I came back home and started cleaning house. LOL! Well needless to say everything worked out and I have a picture of Sarah and her date before they left for the dance. Wanna see? Here ya go…..
Don’t they look wonderful? Now her date was her friend Abe who came down from Lewistown. That made her so happy. She misses all her friends from back there and this gave her a chance to spend a little time with one of them and get caught up on everything happening back home. I’m so grateful to Colin for taking the pictures for me because I was at Kurt’s game. I think his team did quite well. They made it as far as the final game but then they lost. I told Kurt and his friend that they should be proud of themselves for making it that far. I have a picture of him playing basketball from an earlier game but not his playoff games since I had to leave the camera here at the house for Colin to use. Here’s that basketball picture of Kurt.
![]()
I guess that pretty much gets everybody caught up with things here. So far this week I have ANOTHER full weekend off! Woot Woot! That’s a good thing because Colin is planning on taking me to the Red Lobster for seafood and drinks for a late Valentine’s Day present! WEEEEEE! LOL! I hope you all had a pretty decent Monday and I’ll be back here as soon as possible.
Love & Blessings,
Martha
February 09 Yoooo Hooooo....I'm Here! LOL!![]() Howdy Happy People!
Sorry for being away so long but life has kept me on my toes and I will be posting a new blog about that hopefully at some point over the weekend....maybe even later today if I get a chance....LOL!
*Wipes the sweat from her brow.....*
Ok....so as you can see...I have a new toy on here. It plays radio stations from all over the place and so far it's working great! The first radio station plays nothing but 80's music for when I'm in a retro kinda mood. LOL! The second is a station that plays nothing but hard rock/heavy metal for when I'm in my butt kicking mood. LOL! Seems I've been in that mood a lot lately....LOL! The third one ain't working so just ignore that one....LOL! I'll see about finding a different one for that. Maybe a station that plays Top 40 music. The forth one is a station out of the UK called Virgin Radio that Colin and I listened to a lot when I would be over in England visiting. And last but not least is another hard rock/heavy metal station out of the UK this time. Hey what can I say.....I'm a sucker for those hot English accents....LOL! YUMMY! LOL! I was really left with no choice but to use this new toy if I wanted any kind of music on my MSN Space due to the fact that File Lodge is gone! I am sooooo bummed out about that since I kinda like picking my own music to reflect the mood of my blog or just to reflect my mood in general. Oh well...I guess all good things must come to an end huh? It really sucks though.
Anyway...I guess I better get my rear in gear and get the heck outta here. So much has happened here and I will be posting a HUGE update hopefully in the next few days. Till then......I'll leave ya all hanging....LOL! I know....what crap huh? LOL! Have a wonderful Friday my lovelies and I'll be back ASAP!
Love & Blessings,
Martha
![]() January 11 AARRGGGHHHH!!!!!!!Ok......this is my second try at posting a new blog! Talk about everything all screwed up! It's bad enough that my music on here quit working almost two weeks ago because
File Lodge is down but it seems that my living room PC is acting up as well. I am typing this on Colin's laptop at the moment while he is fixing my PC up. Oh and PC and blog woes ain't the worst of it......mandatory weekens are back at work! It all started last weekend and from what I have heard there will be no end to it till sometime in April or May! I'm gonna end up feeling like I've been drug through a knot hole backwards. OUCH! LOL! Well that ok...I started applying for other jobs so hopefully I will soon be telling these buttheads....Good-bye!
Colin and I had our 4th year anniversary on January 8th and my son Kurtis had his 11th B-Day on January 9th! Where has the time gone! Colin got me a box of chocolates and some flowers as my anniversary gift and so far I didn't get him anything because I have no idea what to get him....LOL! Maybe I'll get him a gift card to Lowes or Home Depot...that'll make him happy.....LOL!
We haven't been able to have a decent B-Day party for Kurtis because of the way I have been working but hopefully we'll be able to come up with something in a few weeks time since I will have a full weekend then but I had to use vacation time to get it! What crap!
Anyway...I better get going for now....I'll speak to you all again soon.
Love & Blessings,
Martha January 01 Happy New Year!![]() Happy New Year Everybody!
How is everybody today? Feeling a bit hung over? LOL! I'm sure some of you are feeling the effects of celebrating last night....LOL!
Me myself......I actually spent the evening at home...watching Eurotrip (and having a laugh) and sipping at what was left of my Bailey's that Colin had got me for St. Patrick's Day last year. That just goes to show just how little I do drink when something lasts me that long. LOL! So all things were done in moderation last night. Colin, I and all the kids did stay up till midnight to see the New Year in and then we got to watch one of the coolest fireworks displays I have ever seen from our front door! If they put on a show like that just for New Years I can just imagine how awesome its gonna be for the 4th of July! LOL! I'll tell ya....Carlisle is one awesome place to live! They really know how to live it up for those of us who have families. The more I see here...the more I realize just what a good idea it was for us to move down here!
Speaking of good things here....while Colin and I were doing a few chores yesterday afternoon....we heard someone ring our new door bell. (Yes, we finally put a door bell in and when you ring it...it sound like the chimes from Big Ben....LOL! What can I say...I married a Brit....LOL!) Well I opened the door and found my neighbor and her daughter with home-made Christmas cookies in hand and a card! She just wanted to welcome us to the neighborhood and to wish us a Happy New Year! God Bless them! That has got to be the sweetest thing anybody has ever done for me! You would never find that kind of thing at Lewistown. The people here are so friendly and loving!
![]() Oh I forgot to mention....that the higher ups at work decided to let us have our full weekend off again this weekend because of the New Year holiday! I was in shock! Talk about generous! LOL! For this reason I was able to take down all my Christmas decks....including the lights outside and the tree! So now I don't have to think about it! Woot Woot! But boy does the house look mighty bare without them.....it's gonna take weeks for me to get use to it....LOL! It just makes it so depressing but at least I can move around in my puter chair and not worry about hitting the Christmas tree so I guess that's a HUGE plus. LOL!
Oh I also got an early Anniversary gift from the hubby yesterday. He put much needed extra lighting in the kitchen! WEEEEEEEE! I now have track lighting above my sink so I can see what I'm doing in the evenings when playing with dishes and also small lights under the cabinets so I have better light in which to prepare meals and such! I can't tell you how thrilled I am with that. I mean we have an overhead light in there but it just wasn't helping with having enough light at night for seeing to do other things. This has helped us all out! He really does know how to make a girl happy! Now what in the world am I gonna get him? LOL!
Anyway...I guess I better get rolling for now. Penn State is playing at the Outback Bowl in less than 30 minutes! LOL! But I just want to take the time to wish all of you a very Happy New Year! May God bless you with great and wonderful things in 2007! Till we speak again....
Love & Blessings,
Martha
![]() December 26 Christmas is over...soon it'll be a brand new year!![]() Hey All,
I just find it so hard to believe that Christmas is over! Where did this year go to? I hope all of you enjoyed your Christmas and that Santa got you everything you wanted...well almost everything anyway....LOL!
I had a wonderful time up at my Dad and Gram's place over the weekend...as you can see by the pictures.....LOL! The kids got more than enough...as usualy....LOL! And of course I think over the weekend I gained 10 pounds! That would be the usual too....LOL! I guess somebody should have gotten me a membership to the gym for Christmas huh? LOL! I'll have to be sure to ask for that next year....LOL! Not to worry...I'm sure my job will work all that unwanted fat off me.....LOL! Blah!
Going back to work today was a major pain in the rear! I was NOT ready for that! I heard that alarm go off this morning and I thought to myself....NO WAY! LOL! Yes way Martha...it's time to step back to reality.....LOL! So far there is no mandatory overtime in the works this weekend as well but they do have overtime posted for anyone who wants to sign up but unless I'm made to do it.....I ain't gonna do it....LOL! Now I'm of two minds about working overtime this weekend. On the one hand.....I like my days off and I really do not want to go in if I don't have to. But.....on the other hand....the extra money really would come in handy...especially after all that Holiday spending. Well which ever it may be it will be a blessing I suppose so I guess I'll just have to roll with the punches and see what plays out.
Anyway...I guess I better get going for now. I hope you all had a nice and relaxing day after Christmas today and that you are all fully recovered from the Holiday madness....LOL! Till we speak again....
Love & Blessings,
Martha December 23 A Lump To The Throat
Howdy All,
Well here I am again to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas! I was just gonna leave it with my Christmas greeting but I observed something this morning that literally brought me to tears.
I was coming down stairs and switching on the PC to write to you all when I happened to hear the playing of instruments and the singing of voices coming from outside. I decided to stick my head out the door to see what all the commotion was about and I saw a sight that truly has blessed me. There was a group of carolers singing and playing on our street. I called Colin down to see it and he was just taken away. He told me that they must be collecting money for a local charity and we raced around the house looking for spare change to give to them. Well we were all prepared to give them our change but when they stopped singing that’s when the most amazing thing happened. They opened their cars and mini-vans and began to produce gifts and food to some of the needy families on our street! And I'm not talking just a little bit of food or gifts but a whole LOAD of the stuff! They jsut kept giving for about 15 minutes or so! I was so touched that I couldn’t help but cry and to thank God for His enduring love!
It’s good to see that Christian love has not faded away. It truly gives me hope for this ever sick and twisted world. God is STILL in control and as long has those of us who have a good heart continue to do what is right and stand for what is right there is no telling how far God's love and mercy can spread!
Anyway……Here is my Christmas wish for all of you…..May the Lord bless you with all the love and kindness of the Season and may His blessings continue into the New Year! Merry Christmas my friends!
Love & Christmas Blessings,
Martha
December 17 Hooray....It's My One Day Off! LOL!Howdy All,
![]() Well I made it.....it's my only day off this weekend but its gonna be far from relaxing. LOL! In a few minutes I will walking out the door to go down to the corner store for a few area news papers. Its time to start looking for a new job! This place is getting terrible! Rumor has it that after the new year they plan on mandating us 7 days a week! Well I don't know about the rest of my co-workers but that just don't fly with me at all! I'm sorry...I'm not a lazy person....when I'm at work I work but I don't want my job to be my life either. My life starts when I walk into the house and have my family around me. That is my life. Anything or anybody that gets in the way with my life had better watch themselves cause I don't take any crap.....LOL! Just that simple!
Along with looking for a new job today.....Sarah has her Christmas Concert at school this afternoon which I will be attending. I'll do my best to get some pictures of it but I have no idea how good they'll be. I think my digital camera is on it's last legs. I just hope it gets me through the Holidays before it decided to die on me completely. LOL!
Colin is painting the bathroom today. He said he doesn't need my help with it....in other words....stay out of my way....LOL! He did however say that for today I am on coffee duty....LOL! In fact he's up there getting started on it right now as I type. I heard him pounding on something just a little while ago but I have no clue what....and I'm afraid to ask....LOL!
If you notice the new picture album I posted we took the kids on a little Christmas outing yesterday. We took them to the Christmas lights at the Carlisle Fair Grounds. I really enjoyed it and I think the kids did too! Different area businesses sponsored the different light displays including Colin's work place! Their light display was the one of the Toy Shop. The cost to drive through was $10 a car load with all money going to the Carlisle YMCA. So it was all for a good cause. I think I'll be going to that again next year!
Anyway...I guess I better get going for now guys. I hope you all enjoy what is left of the weekend and I'll see about getting on here again before Christmas day. Speak to you all again soon!
Love & Blessings,
Martha December 12 What In The World?!?!AARRGGHHHH!!!!!! I have to work again this weekend!!!!!!!!
This is getting stupid!!!!!! I have my little water fountain on to relax and it ain't working! *takes a deep breath* Breathe in breathe out....breathe in breathe out....LOL! That's it.... I'm finding a different job in the New Year darn it! LOL!
Love & Blessings,
Martha December 11 Christmas is coming...the goose is getting fat.....![]() Howdy All,
Hope everybody's Monday came and went smoothly. Mine actually wasn't too bad....for a Monday....LOL!
Even though I had to work Friday and Saturday this week we did manage to get all the Christmas shopping done on Sunday. HOORAY! Along with finishing up the shopping for the family Colin and I got each other our Christmas gifts to each other. I got him a pair of Led Zeppelin PJ pants and he got me a water fountain to sit on my puter desk and a CD of Native American flute music. He said as stressed out as work is making me lately those two things should help me to relax......along with some of the Bailey's I have under the kitchen sink....LOL! Awwww.....he really does love me....LOL! Now I have always wanted a little water fountain. I think they are soooo pretty and the sound of the water really is relaxing. In fact.......I have a picture of it right here.....
![]() Isn't it beautiful?!?! I've been enjoying the Native American flute music CD too. I played it as soon as I got in the door from Wal-Mart yesterday while Colin was putting my water fountain together. LOL! I actually looked forward to using both all day at work and didn't I turn both on as soon as I got home....LOL! Take a deep breath and relax....LOL!
As far as work goes.......so far there is no mandatory overtime scheduled for this weekend but we were told that if they don't get enough volunteers to sign up before Wednesday then it most likely will be made mandatory. YUCK! Still I know the extra money would be helpful but I really don't want to have to go to work again this weekend. They are asking for 26 people to sign up and I have no idea if anybody signed up for it yet or not. I know I won't be.....LOL! Sorry but I have found from past experience that if you start doing that then they expect it all the time and give you a guilt trip when you don't sign up for it so I have made it a rule to never ever sign up for voluntary overtime uless it is most desperately needed......LOL!
I got some good news from work.....I should be getting a bonus this week along with my paycheck with the overtime on it! Woot woot! That'll be helpful! LOL! That should take away some of the sting of working the weekend last week. LOL! I'm not too sure just how big of a bonus it's gonna be but any extra amount of money is better than nothing huh?
In other Holiday happenings.....
Sarah will be performing with her new High School Concert Band at her New High School this Sunday! Hooray Sarah! I'm really looking forward to seeing it and I'm gonna try and get pictures of it.....if I can remember to take my camera along......LOL! We also want to take the kids to the Carlisle Fair Grounds this Saturday night for the beautiful Christmas lights display that they are having there. We're not too sure if we'll be going to that or not but it is something I would like to see. I guess it depends on how much time and energy we have left.
Also going on this weekend....
We plan on painting the bathroom at some point this weekend. Now we didn't plan on doing any painting in the house till Spring but it seems that the bathroom walls only have primer on them and Colin said with all the moisture in bathroom from everybody getting a shower will cause mold to form on the walls if we don't get paint on there ASAP! We have decided to go with a nice Sea Fare Blue since there is blue in the linoleum on the the floor and it will look nice with the white trim, tub and sink we have in the bathroom. I will try and get before and after pictures of that as well. So much for a relaxing weekend huh? LOL!
Anyway......I guess I'll get going here. I hope everybody has a great rest of the week and I'll be back again soon.
Love & Blessings,
Martha
![]() December 06 Scrooge Is Alive And Well![]() Howdy All,
Sorry it's been a few days since I was here but for the past few days I have been rather bummed out but today I'm feeling a little...shall we say....used to the idea of my situation this week. LOL!
See on Monday when I went back to work we were hit with the news that we have mandatory overtime this weekend. Needless to say I was not a happy camper about it....thus the bummed out state for the past few days. We have to work Friday and Saturday for 8 hours each day. Now normally at any other time of the year I wouldn't have minded this too much but with this being the Holiday Season this just did not sit well with me at all! The weekends are when I do my Christmas shopping, wrapping, etc and to have to give up two days out of my busy schedule really has me seeing red! Now yes I know that the extra money right now really might be a good thing and I really am trying to look at it that way but if you guys know me....like I have a feeling that you all do....you know that I am not one for material things and cherish my family time more than anything...especially this time of year. I just love how these companies seem to bite off more than they can chew and then we the workers are left holding the bag for their screw ups!
Oh well....at least I got Sunday off....that's better than nothing at all. I hope you all have a wonderful rest of your week guys and I'll see about jumping back on here again soon!
Love & Blessings,
Martha |
